What is Brussels Dispatches?
Founded by Wilf King and Pierre Minoves in January 2024, Brussels Dispatches is a network of young professionals attempting to communicate about the European Union in a clear and accessible way.
Born out of the same conversations with friends and family, Pierre and Wilf decided to take matters into their own hands and attempted to do their part in demystifying the EU and its labyrinthine procedures and processes.
Our Mission:
Over the next few months, we will be bringing you a series of articles, interviews and analyses with three main aims in mind:
1. Bringing the EU to a wider audience
2. Explaining the concrete impact of the EU on the daily lives of EU citizens
3. Humanising and demystifying the EU and the people that work there
Who are We?
We are two young professionals working in Brussels, keen to share our insights of the life and times of living in the EU.

Wilf King, is a 28 year old Dublin native. After a bachelors degree in law from Trinity College Dublin, Wilf turned his back on a legal career to study for a few more years. After a year at Panthéon-Assas in Paris, Wilf graduated top of his masters class at the College of Europe. His interests mainly lie in international relations and conflict resolution and EU trade policy.
Wilf is currently a policy advisor in the office of Dublin MEP Barry Andrews where he focuses on international trade, business and human rights, and foreign affairs. He has previously worked at Flint Global, the European Commission and Matheson LLP.
Pierre Minoves, is a 26 year old Parisian. Nothing original, one may think. After one year of classe préparatoire, Pierre completed his bachelors degree at Sciences Po Aix, before further postgraduate studies at Paris-Dauphine PSL and the College of Europe in Bruges. During his studies, Pierre developed a keen interest in European affairs, ethics and transparency in public life, and international criminal law. His theses focused on the 'use of transparency to rebuild the trust between citizens and public officials’ and the ‘European Public Prosecutor Office and the perspectives for EU criminal law.’
He is currently a policy officer in the European Commission’s DG JUST, where he works for the Freeze and Seize Task Force, created shortly after the beginning of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. He has previously worked in the European Parliament for a French MEP, the Haute Autorité pour la Transparence de la Vie Publique and L’Alliance 7.
